It is our pleasure to inform the scientific society in Poland and in
the World about a new quarterly “Acta Mechanica et Automatica”. In
the begining of the 20th century technical sciences emerged as a
result of a rapid technological development. Then they evolved into
different scientific disciplines. Now a different trend can be
observed. Present technology can be seen as a synergic combination
of the earlier known mechanical, electrical, automatic or computer
sciences. Moreover many inspirations for the modern technology come
from such different fields as biology, medicine, physics or
chemistry.
We invite you to publish theoretical and experimental works of
various mechanical, automatics and robotics problems. Extremely
valuable would be the papers presenting the possibilities of
implementing the results of the investigations in the field of
machines building and operation. We encourage you to make “brief
affairs” and submit also papers concerning biocybernetics, medical
engineering, materials and computer sciences. Fresh ideas and the
ability to solve the problems would be especially appreciated.
The language of the contemporary science is English but not so long
ago, in the 19th century, it used to be Latin. This is why the title
of our quarterly is “Acta Mechanica et Automatica”. Nevertheless, we
encourage the Distinguished Authors to use English. Papers in Polish
would also be accepted. The language is not so important, as the
main aim of the Editorial Board is to ensure the high scientific
level of the journal, but it decides about the possible circle of
the Readers of course.
We encourage you to express your opinions and discuss with the
Authors in our quarterly. Is a good time to return to the old good
scientific activity standards and that is why we are going to
publish the letters from the Readers with the critical discussions
of the published papers.
In order to ensure the right evaluation and the high scientific
level of the papers we made and are making our best to invite the
outstanding specialists from all over the World into the Scientific
Board. We know, this would be an additional burden for them, so we
would like to express our appreciation for all their help in
advance.
We wish the Authors to enjoy the fruits of their creative effort and
the Readers to make the best use of the ideas presented in our
quarterly!
